Elementary to Primary School Bike Trail
The City of Highland is applying for an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program Grant to design and construct a new bike trail between the existing elementary school campus on Lindenthal and the new primary school on Poplar Street. The new trail would travel along Lindenthal Avenue and connect to the existing trail along Park Hill Road. This trail would be extended south on Park Hill Road and travel through the VFW property to the park and ballfields along VFW Road. The trail will continue to school property with a connection to bike parking at the new primary school. The City is excited to expand our network of safe walking and biking routes for the residents. We believe providing safe and accessible routes to two community schools and two parks with federal investment programs is an economical way to bring this kind of infrastructure to our residents.
